Is this how bad Germany sucks?
Bettina chose living in an airport over living in Germany for the last ten years
For the last ten years, this 48 year old German woman has called the airport in Palma de Mallorca her home. Bettina comes from a small city in the South of Germany, and initially started a new life in Mallorca after having lost her job and a relationship.
Unfortunately Bettina wasn’t as good a kitchen help as she thought she was, and soon she lost her new job too, with no hope of securing another one on the Island – the islands inhabitants chose Spanish speaking personal over the German outsider. Considering her options, she picked the airport as her new home, not wanting to go back to her house in Germany.
Doing nothing but reading books all day, receiving money from tourists and getting fed twice a week by a friend, together with her cat “Mumu”, Bettina has stolen the hearts of the airport staff, who’ve given her the nickname of; “the lady with the white cat”.
